The attendance is growing and God is drawing many people from our neighborhood powerful encounters in our community and many are involved in Lifegroups! I have a few testimonies for you to read; if you have further questions about what is happening and want to talk, I would love to!

Character Refining

South-Africa-Trip-2011-057

It has been a revelatory year thus far and I have heard from the Lord on my next adventure! Having returned from South Africa I was asking God, “do you really have a plan for my life, or do I just decide what I do next?” It is funny how the Lord will bring back recurring themes in our lives to take us deeper into a Knowledge of Himself that can’t be gained unless we wait patiently and endure the trials, the challenges and the inconsistencies of the fallen world we live in until He moves or speaks.

FIRE 4 NATIONS

BANGALORE, INDIA 2010

RICHARD DEMARCO August Update

I am currently back in Waco, TX and it is exciting on one hand but bittersweet on the other. I have seen God do some amazing things and He has partnered me with amazing people too! It has been heaven coming to earth in my everyday life in India.

I want you all to know that none of this was possible without all of the body doing its part through intercessory prayer and financial sacrifice. I can’t extend enough thanks to all of you from Brookwood Church back in SC and my faithful friends here in Waco- THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORTING ME IN WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN ME THE GRACE TO DO!

My time in Bangalore was to help with a long term plan of seeing men and women come to know Jesus and disciple them to become strong in the faith so they may share Jesus with others. At about my third week here I met a man whom I prayed for healing in the name of Jesus and he was radically touched by God’s love (healed)!

I spent the last 3 months meeting with him and discipling him to disciple others. He started a church that gathers over 18-20 people every week and those in his gathering are leading others to Christ! He is discipling many and is passionate to see God’s Kingdom advance.

He has a servant’s heart and is the most humble person I have met in India. His name is Frank and he is a delight to be with. He will need continual prayer as we transition out of India for the time being. Please pray for his financial well being and protection from the enemy as he is a man on fire for Jesus and to see Him high and lifted up!

Also, I was to meet and share the love of Jesus with an unreached Buddhist people group in the North Eastern part of India. This nation has been closed off to Christianity for a long time. There are reportedly many Buddhist students from this nation seeking education here in Bangalore. Trying to find them in a city that has a population of 5,544,000 is not easy but we have found and befriended over 15!

At about my 1.5 month mark I felt led by the Holy Spirit to talk to an “Asian looking man” who was not of the people group, but he introduced me to a Nepali person. This person gathered 5 reliable men that I got the opportunity to disciple weekly and model house church. One of the men he brought to me was of our target group. He had given his life to Jesus 2 years before I met him. As we continued to meet he spoke about his desire to be baptized and I had the awesome opportunity to baptize him!

India Update #1- Preparation for Vision

SO much has happened in the last 7 weeks so I will just jump on in. I left Vancouver on April 1st and arrived in Bangalore at 3AM; what a wild plane ride! Two 11+ hour flights and a two layovers consisting of approximately 7 hours. Here is a pic of me and the two guys I sat with on my last leg of the flight into Bangalore. I did get to share Jesus with them both and they were thankful. One of them was a student from Europe (the guy behind me). He was with a group of people and I got to meet his friend Rocky.

Rocky was a fun loving character, drinking and partying on the plane. I got to ask Rocky if he believed in God and he said he did and then I asked him if he thought he would go to heaven if he were to die today? I got to share Jesus’ love with him and pray with him too!

I prayed for him to experience the love of God and that He would continue to draw Rocky close to Him and reveal Himself. When I finished praying, Rocky said excitedly; “I felt your energy!”  I told him that it was God’s Spirit that touched him, he was all smiles. Very cool!

Vancouver/Seattle Update

It has been 2 months away from home base in Waco and I have lived in Vancouver and Seattle with some amazing people. Thank you Jesus for my brother Todd Meek in Vancouver who has made my first two months ridiculously smooth by opening up his home and his life to me and giving me his Honda Pilot for my unlimited use in Seattle.

Van City Needs YOU!

I have found myslef in new territory, forging ahead with no real idea of what really lies ahead. Daily I get up and immerse myself in a foreign world outside of my Waco World. ”This world is very colorful on the outside but it gives me dreams in black and white.”

Richard-and-the-protesters-Copy

As I make my way from one encounter to the next, my spirit is assaulted at every turn and I sense and see the desperation, the emptiness, the pain, the false sense of security, the worship of self, identity crisis, moral relativism, apathy, the propagation of the human spirit and pride that  makes Vancouver an amazing place to see God’s Kingdom come!

But really there is such beauty all around you, the landscape, the diversity of Nations and the willingness to make sure you have directions.

God is moving in this city and hearts are being softened and prepared by the unity among the churches here and the ongoing efforts to love the community well. It is not possible to see what some call revival or a movement of God without the unity of the body. The efforts of More than Gold have really brought the Church together to serve the world here in Vancouver during the 2010 Olympics.

It has been a privilage to be a part of reigning righteousness upon this amazing city with the body of Christ!  I am excited about what God is doing and what He will do as He raises up more workers to come and harvest here now and in the future.

There is a real need for prayer teams to sow into this land more and more and to cry out to the Lord of the Harvest to send more workers! If you have a heart for missions and God has placed a burden on your heart for this land, please let me know. We want to see a church planting team here in Vancouver soon!

Van City on the VERGE!

It’s just so ridiculous!!!

Okay, so I got here a couple of days ago and have tested the waters in West Point Grey where Todd Meek lives. It’s very rich and the people are nice but after assessing the temp and speaking with some people, it seems there needs to be some cultivation and sowing happening here. The ground is hard but that doesn’t mean that immediate fruit is not possible.

God is Moving in SC!

I arrived in South Carolina on Tuesday December 1st and was warmly welcomed by my dad as he picked me up in Charlotte.

It was great to land here and let my nerves settle. Earlier in the day I backed my car into a stone wall that blew out my tire on my way to the airport that morning.

On Wednesday it rained and I decided to leave the house around 1:30 PM and go for a drive downtown. As I did, I noticed that there was a new massage studio and I felt the spirit open the door for me to check it out.

I went inside and got a price and decided to have a massage for my ailing back. As I waited on the therapist, she came in and her name was Meow. Yes, just like the noise a cat makes.

It turns out she was a Chinese woman who just moved to Greenville with her husband two weeks ago from another US city.

As she was finishing the massage she asked me if I lived here and I got to talk about what I do.

I got the opportunity to share the Gospel with her and she made decision for JESUS!

How amazing! As I left I got to give here some information to share with her husband and I went home.

As I got home I realized that a friend of our family was going to be doing some work at my parents home.

Earlier that day in my quiet time I remembered that I sensed the Lord tell me that He would come to Jesus today.

I know that sounds crazy but I took it at face value and went in the garage where he was working and I had an amazing conversation with him and He gave his life to Jesus!

God is definintly moving in Greenville and I look forward to seeing more people come to know Him before I go back to Waco.

I had to share this because it is funny how the enemy was speaking lies like, you will not see fruit there and people will reject you.  This is so far from the truth and is worth a great laugh at satan’s expense;-)

I am so blessed by Papa Daddy God and the people He has placed in my life. Lord you are good always and I will always fight for your truth!

Increasing in Him,
Richard
